Competition dates and prize

1. INTRODUCTION

1.1. The Vorqela Maths Creator Challenge ("the Competition") is organised and promoted by Kama HealthReach Media, trading as Vorqela ("the Organiser").

1.2. The Competition encourages high school learners to express their creativity, share their experiences and start conversations about Mathematics through original video content published on Instagram and TikTok.

1.3. By entering the Competition, participants agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions. Participants under the age of 18 must obtain the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

1.4. Participation is voluntary and free of charge. No purchase, subscription or payment to Vorqela is required.

2. COMPETITION PERIOD

2.1. The Competition opens on 12 October 2026.

2.2. The Competition closes on 9 December 2026 at 23:59 South African Standard Time (SAST).

2.3. Only entries meeting all participation requirements before the closing deadline will be eligible for judging.

2.4. The winner will be announced on 11 December 2026 through Vorqela's official Instagram and TikTok accounts.

3. ELIGIBILITY

3.1. The Competition is open to learners currently enrolled at high schools in South Africa.

3.2. Participants must be at least 13 years old and must comply with the minimum age requirements and applicable policies of Instagram and TikTok.

3.3. Participants under 18 years of age must obtain parental or legal guardian consent to participate.

3.4. Employees, directors, agents, consultants and persons directly involved in administering the Competition, together with their immediate family members, are not eligible to win.

3.5. The Organiser may request reasonable proof of age, identity, high school enrolment and parental or guardian consent to verify eligibility.

4. HOW TO ENTER

Participation requires three steps:

STEP 1: CREATE

Create an original video about Mathematics.

The content may be educational, entertaining, humorous, motivational, informative or based on personal experiences with Mathematics.

STEP 2: POST

Publish the same original video on both Instagram and TikTok during the Competition Period.

STEP 3: TAG

Tag or mention @vorqela_edtech in the caption or description on both Instagram and TikTok.

4.1. All three steps must be completed for an entry to qualify.

4.2. Posting a video on Instagram only or TikTok only does not constitute a valid entry.

4.3. The Organiser must be able to view and verify both posts. Participants using private accounts may contact Vorqela at info@vorqela.co.za to arrange verification without making their accounts public.

4.4. Entries must remain available for verification until the winner has been announced.

4.5. Instagram Stories alone do not qualify unless the video is also published as a Reel or video post on Instagram and as a video on TikTok.

5. UNLIMITED ENTRIES

5.1. There is no limit to the number of entries an eligible participant may submit.

5.2. Every different, original Mathematics video counts as one entry, provided all Competition requirements are met.

5.3. The same video posted on Instagram and TikTok constitutes one entry, not two separate entries.

5.4. For example:

  • 1 different video = 1 entry.
  • 5 different videos = 5 entries.
  • 10 different videos = 10 entries.

5.5. Participants may submit as many different videos as they wish before the closing deadline.

5.6. Reposting identical content, making minor changes to an existing entry or submitting duplicate videos does not create additional entries.

5.7. Multiple entries provide more opportunities for a participant's content to be considered but do not guarantee selection. Each qualifying video will be evaluated on its own merits.

6. VIDEO CONTENT REQUIREMENTS

6.1. Every submitted video must have a clear connection to Mathematics.

6.2. Eligible content may include:

  • Funny Mathematics skits or classroom experiences.
  • Explaining Mathematical concepts or problems.
  • Mathematics challenges involving friends.
  • Discussions about why Mathematics is difficult.
  • Personal Mathematics learning journeys.
  • Mathematics in everyday life.
  • Inspirational Mathematics-related messages.
  • Creative storytelling involving Mathematics.

6.3. Videos must be original and created by the participant or with their authorised collaborators.

6.4. Participants must have permission to use any third-party images, music, recordings or other protected material included in their videos.

6.5. Where other individuals appear in a video, participants must obtain their permission and, where necessary, parental or guardian consent.

6.6. Participants filming at schools must comply with applicable school policies and obtain any necessary permission.

6.7. Videos containing bullying, harassment, hate speech, discrimination, explicit material, dangerous activities or other unlawful or harmful material may be disqualified.

6.8. Content must comply with the applicable Instagram and TikTok community guidelines.

6.9. There is no prescribed video length, provided the content complies with the permitted formats and requirements of both platforms.

7. THE PRIZE

7.1. The Competition offers one grand prize of R3 000 (Three Thousand South African Rand) in cash.

7.2. One eligible participant will be selected as the overall winner.

7.3. The prize will be awarded to the winner or, where appropriate, paid through their parent or legal guardian.

7.4. Payment will be made through an electronic funds transfer to an appropriately verified South African bank account.

7.5. Payment will be arranged within 15 business days after successful verification of the winner's eligibility and payment details.

7.6. No entry fee, administration fee or additional purchase is required to receive the prize.

7.7. The prize will not be substituted for a voucher, product or service without the winner's agreement.

8. JUDGING AND WINNER SELECTION

8.1. The Competition is a creativity-based challenge and not a random lucky draw.

8.2. Eligible entries will be assessed using the following criteria:

Judging Criteria Weight
Creativity and originality 40%
Connection to Mathematics 30%
Entertainment or educational value 20%
Content presentation and execution 10%
Total 100%

8.3. Entries will be assessed by a judging panel appointed by the Organiser, with independent oversight where required by applicable law.

8.4. The highest-scoring eligible video will be selected as the winning entry.

8.5. In the event of a tie, the video with the higher creativity and originality score will rank first. If a tie remains, the judging panel will conduct a documented final assessment using the published criteria.

8.6. The number of followers, likes, views, shares or comments received on Instagram or TikTok will not automatically determine the winner.

8.7. All qualifying videos will be judged on their originality, relevance and overall quality.

8.8. Appropriate judging and verification records will be retained.

8.9. Judging decisions will be made fairly and objectively, subject to participants' rights under applicable South African law.

9. WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT AND VERIFICATION

9.1. The winner will be announced on 11 December 2026 through Vorqela's official Instagram and TikTok accounts.

9.2. The Organiser will contact the selected participant using their social media account or other contact information lawfully provided.

9.3. The selected participant may be required to provide documentation confirming eligibility, identity, school enrolment and, where applicable, parental or legal guardian consent.

9.4. The Organiser will make reasonable attempts to contact and verify the selected winner.

9.5. If the selected participant is ineligible, submitted an invalid entry or cannot be verified after reasonable efforts, the next highest-ranked eligible entry may be selected.

9.6. The winner is not required to participate in promotional interviews, photography or other marketing activities as a condition of receiving the prize.

9.7. The public disclosure of a minor winner's name, photograph, school or other identifying information will require appropriate parental or guardian consent.

10. CONTENT OWNERSHIP AND USE

10.1. Participants retain ownership of their original video content.

10.2. By entering, participants permit the Organiser to access and review submitted videos, verify entries and maintain necessary competition administration records.

10.3. The Organiser may request permission to repost, feature or share competition content on Vorqela's official Instagram, TikTok, other social media accounts or website.

10.4. Any promotional use featuring minors will be subject to the necessary parental or guardian permissions.

10.5. Participation in additional marketing campaigns, advertisements, interviews or promotional activities is voluntary and may be declined without affecting the participant's entitlement to a prize.

10.6. Any additional commercial use of participants' content beyond Competition administration requires appropriate separate authorisation.

11. PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY

11.1. The Organiser will process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and applicable South African laws.

11.2. Information collected may include social media usernames, submitted video links, competition correspondence, and where necessary, age, proof of school enrolment, parent or guardian contact details and prize payment information.

11.3. Personal information will be used only for lawful purposes connected with administering the Competition, judging entries, verifying eligibility, contacting participants, awarding the prize and complying with legal obligations, unless another lawful basis exists.

11.4. Personal information of participants under 18 will be processed only where permitted by law, including with prior consent of a competent parent or guardian where required.

11.5. Participants must not publish identity numbers, residential addresses, bank account information or other sensitive personal information in their competition videos or captions.

11.6. The Organiser will implement reasonable security safeguards and retain personal information only as long as necessary for the relevant lawful purposes or as required by law.

11.7. Participants and their parents or guardians may request access to, correction of or other lawful action regarding their personal information by contacting info@vorqela.co.za.

11.8. Information collected for the Competition will not automatically be used to subscribe participants to marketing communications.

12. DISQUALIFICATION AND FAIR PARTICIPATION

12.1. Entries that fail to comply with the eligibility, originality, posting, tagging or content requirements may be disqualified.

12.2. Entries involving impersonation, plagiarism, fraud, manipulated engagement intended to interfere with judging, or infringement of third-party rights may be disqualified.

12.3. Participants must not engage in unsafe activities or violate school regulations or applicable laws when creating content.

12.4. The Organiser may investigate suspected misconduct and provide an affected participant with a reasonable opportunity to explain an apparent breach where practicable.

13. GENERAL CONDITIONS

13.1. The Competition is independently organised by Kama HealthReach Media, trading as Vorqela.

13.2. This Competition is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram, TikTok, Meta or ByteDance.

13.3. Participants acknowledge that Instagram and TikTok are not responsible for the administration or fulfilment of the Competition and release those platforms from claims relating to the Competition to the extent permitted by applicable law.

13.4. The Organiser is not responsible for third-party internet outages, platform errors or technical failures beyond its reasonable control. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies available under applicable law.

13.5. Any necessary changes to the Competition will be communicated through Vorqela's official channels, made in accordance with applicable law and will not unfairly prejudice participants' existing rights.
